The CMBNet
CMBNET was a network of scientists involved in the theory and data
analysis of the Cosmic Microwave Background, and was made up of a
number of research nodes in nine different European countries. The
purpose was to foster cooperation and cross-fertilisation among
researchers during the pre and post Planck boom in European microwave
background research of the coming decade.
Issues that were addressed included:
- Analysis and simulation of Planck and pre-Planck data
- Development of approaches to analysis and utilisation of large
data sets
- The interface between CMB and large-scale structure
- Nongaussian models of primordial fluctuations
- Reionization and secondary CMB anisotropies
- The physics and analysis of microwave foregrounds
The Team Coordinator at MPA was Rashid Sunyaev. CMBNet
research at MPA was associated with theoretical aspects of cluster
related science.
